About this role

We are seeking a dedicated Head Barista to join our team at Carriageworks Eveleigh, New South Wales. This temporary part-time role ensures smooth café operation, excellent customer service, and staff leadership. Ideal candidates bring strong coffee production background and passion for hospitality in fast-paced settings.

Supervise daily café operations to uphold high standards of service and cleanliness. Handle opening and closing shifts, cash handling, venue set-up, pack down, and end-of-day reporting. Work independently while multitasking across various roles.

Train, mentor, and manage café staff for exceptional customer experiences. Assist in food and beverage preparation and presentation. Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally in a dynamic environment.

Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure compliance with health, safety regulations, and policies. Monitor café performance including sales and customer feedback. Enjoy Tuesday-Saturday shifts approx 8am-3pm with opportunity to pick up event shifts.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or catering industry
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
RSA and food safety knowledge (highly regarded)
Minimum 1 year in a fast-paced barista environment
