About this role

The Coffee Shop Barista prepares and serves high-quality beverages and food while providing exceptional customer service. This role is essential to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for customers and supporting the overall operations of the coffee shop.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to company recipes, as well as preparing and serving food items like pastries, sandwiches, and snacks. Baristas operate the POS system, handle cash, and maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and dining areas.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Barista provides friendly and attentive service at the counter, drive-thru, or café area. This position is also cross-trained to support convenience store operations, assisting with retail functions such as stocking shelves and operating the store POS as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math and computer skills for POS operations.
Professional, positive attitude and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Willing and able to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
Must have a phone and reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Prepare coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.
Prepare and serve food items, including pastries, sandwiches, and snacks.
Provide friendly, efficient, and attentive customer service at the counter, drive-thru, or café area.
Operate POS system, handle cash, and process transactions accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment.
Monitor inventory of ingredients and supplies and report shortages or equipment issues to supervisor.
Assist with opening, closing, and shift transition procedures as directed.
Support convenience store operations including operating POS, assisting customers, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness.
