About this role

Barista Café Attendants provide excellent service and expertly crafted products. You will be in an energetic store environment where you will have the ability to master your food & beverage craft. Work alongside friends and meet new people every day.

Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers per the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide. Efficiently operate the register system including proper labeling of Starbucks drink and food items. Maintain work area throughout shift, ensuring it is clean, sanitized and well stocked.

Engage with customers through clear and pleasant communication to discover and respond to their needs. Work with delivery vendor to unload, inspect and store Starbucks food items properly. Be available to perform different shift locations throughout the store including Support, Cold Bar and Espresso Bar.

Obtain Starbucks Barista Basics certification within 90 days of hire and attend seasonal promotional trainings. Follow training and safety procedures when operating equipment. Master barista skills while meeting store operating policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department prior to starting OR obtain MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than first Wednesday of employment and full valid MCHD FSWP within 1 month
  • Starbucks Barista Basics certification within 90 days of hire
  • Prefer prior barista and/or food service experience in a high-volume setting

Responsibilities

  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
  • Efficiently and accurately operate the register system including proper labeling all Starbucks drink and food items
  • Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers per the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide
  • Maintain work area throughout shift, ensuring it is clean, sanitized and well stocked with proper cups, lids, syrups, coffees and refreshers
  • Engage with and understand customers per the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide through clear and pleasant communication
  • Work with delivery vendor to unload, inspect and properly store Starbucks food items in freezers/refrigeration
  • Inventory assigned areas and follow Starbucks Par Builder Par Sheets
  • Attend Starbucks seasonal promotional period trainings as appropriate
