This role combines hands-on beverage preparation with leadership responsibilities at the Maverick Casino & Hotel location.

Daily work includes greeting customers, anticipating their needs, and preparing coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards. The Lead processes transactions, follows recipes precisely, and keeps the coffee bar organized while meeting all food safety policies.

The position involves helping train new baristas through positive reinforcement and coaching. The Lead may schedule and delegate tasks, maintains a calm demeanor during high-volume periods, and communicates store needs to management to support the team.

Requirements

  • High school or GED desirable.
  • Must complete 2-week barista basic certification training.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, and minimum supervision.
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude, strong communication skills, and pleasant/clean appearance.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, and push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs.
  • Prepare and serve food, coffees, teas, and specialty beverages per brand standards.
  • Assist with new associate training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing coaching as needed.
  • Schedule and delegate work assignments to team members and coordinate task completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace so associates can locate resources and product as needed.
  • Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using existing organizational methods.
  • Follow operational policies for cash handling, safety, and security during each shift.
