About this role

As a Barista at Marriott International, you will manage the complete opening and closing of the coffee bar, including setting up supplies and cleaning equipment. You will take orders and prepare food and coffee beverages while maintaining stocked and organized work areas.

Your daily tasks include inputting orders into the cash register system, collecting payments, and operating the MICROS system. You will also bus coffee cart areas and tables, and clean dishes, utensils, and work areas throughout your shift.

You will follow all company safety and security policies, maintain a professional appearance, and welcome guests according to company standards. Working collaboratively with the team, you will support common goals and maintain positive working relationships.

This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in hospitality and coffee service within a global hotel environment. You will be expected to perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors, contributing to an inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • No related work experience required.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Ability to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, and locking doors.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas throughout the shift.
  • Input orders into the cash register system and collect payments from customers.
  • Take orders, record in the MICROS system, and prepare food and coffee beverages.
  • Ensure appliances such as coffee makers are turned on/off at appropriate times.
  • Bus coffee cart areas and tables, and clean dishes, utensils, work areas, and equipment throughout the day.
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and complete safety training and certifications.
