About this role

The Host / Barista at Canopy by Hilton Deer Valley serves as the primary ambassador of first impressions, seamlessly transitioning between the coffee shop, restaurant entrance, and cashier station. This multi-faceted role combines the warm presence of a host with the technical precision of a skilled barista. Grounded in a strong Culture of Care, the position ensures a smooth and hospitable guest experience.

Daily work includes crafting artisanal espresso beverages and seasonal drinks while managing dining room door operations and table pacing. The role requires maintaining espresso machines, stocking displays, and executing accurate retail transactions at the POS. Strict adherence to health protocols and brand SOPs keeps every station pristine and guest-ready.

Perched above the Jordanelle Reservoir near the gondola, the property blends ski-in access with vibrant dining and a rooftop lounge. The host/barista interacts with guests on dietary needs, provides layout information, and supports event setup and teardown. This alpine setting demands both technical barista skill and welcoming hospitality throughout variable shifts.

Team members balance cash drawers with financial precision and monitor café inventory for freshness. The position offers hands-on exposure to full coffee shop operations within a dynamic hospitality environment focused on consistent quality and guest satisfaction.
