About this role
The Assistant Coffee Shop Manager partners with the Restaurant General Manager on leading the restaurant team. Experts at delegating tasks, delivering exceptional customer service, leading by example and developing their team. This position will be specifically responsible for our Starbucks unit/s.
Recruits, trains, develops and communicates with team of Food Travel Experts while implementing and maintaining guest service standards. Develops, plans and assigns daily goals, tasks and Team Member assignments. Manages office tasks including funds, receiving, inventory, purchasing, scheduling and payroll.
SSP Canada operates several restaurants throughout the Ottawa International Airport, including From Zak’s Diner to Big Rig Kitchen & Brewery. YOW is home to iconic brands in a secure airport environment. A Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required along with Transport Canada Security Clearance.
Assists in monitoring sales performance and maintains adherence to company policies and provincial health standards. Proven ability to manage conflict, work under pressure and prioritize activities supports team growth. Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the food & beverage industry, in a management capacity in a coffee shop environment required
- Previous experience managing a Starbucks location strongly preferred
- Food and Beverage experience in a casual dining setting strongly preferred
- Proven ability to effectively manage conflict and ensure successful outcomes; work under pressure and deal with high stress situations while exercising sound judgment and decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Effective organizational maturity to prioritize daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, develop and communicate with team of Food Travel Experts; implement and maintain guest service standards
- Maintain all merchandising standards, display presentations, signing standards and monitor inventory levels
- Develop, plan and assign daily goals, tasks and Team Member assignments
- Manage, supervise and evaluate Team Member performance through follow-up, provide feedback including disciplinary action
- Assist in monitoring sales performance through analysis of sales reports and comparison shopping
- Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as provincial health/sanitation standards
- Manage all office tasks, including management of funds, receiving, inventory, purchasing, team member scheduling and payroll
