About this role

The Lead Barista supports the Starbucks Manager by overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality beverage preparation, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role includes leadership responsibilities such as training and supervising baristas while maintaining store standards.

Role modeling customer service commitment means smiling, offering friendly greetings, learning guests’ names and orders, and assuming the best in others. The Lead Barista connects guests with events and offers while using operational tools to build coffee and product knowledge.

During scheduled shifts the Lead Barista executes store operations, organizes opening and closing duties, and follows all cash management and safety policies. A calm demeanor is maintained during high-volume periods while keeping the workspace clean and organized.

Clear and respectful coaching creates a positive learning environment that improves team performance. Individual motivation and concerns are addressed to build strong relationships and reinforce accomplishments throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment - 1 year
  • Six months of experience in a position that required constant interacting with and fulfilling the requests of customers
  • At least six months of experience delegating tasks to other employees and coordinating the tasks of two or more people

Responsibilities

  • Role model customer service commitment by smiling, greeting guests, learning names and orders, and saying thank you
  • Actively recognize, include, appreciate, support, and delight guests in every interaction
  • Provide quality beverages and food products by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts and organize opening and closing duties
  • Train baristas and provide clear, specific, timely coaching to ensure operational excellence
  • Follow all cash management policies and ensure proper cash handling by the shift team
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools
