This temporary barista role at the UNCG Bookstore Cafe offers a chance to be part of a vibrant campus hub that supports student life and learning. As a Campus Retail Associate, you will provide superior customer service while supporting store leaders in all facets of retail operations.

Your day-to-day will involve preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold food and drinks following prescribed recipes and techniques. Requirements

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to be considered for employment.
  • Previous food handling experience preferred.
  • Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
  • An outstanding attitude with the willingness to learn and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
  • Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food and drinks following prescribed recipes and techniques.
  • Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
  • Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
  • Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
  • Set up or restock displays, wrap, label, date, and rotate food items for sale.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following cleaning, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Perform routine housekeeping including dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal.
