Too Sweet Cakes

Paradise Valley, US · Full-time · $32,000 – $32,000

About this role

We're hiring Baristas for our upcoming Paradise Valley location, scheduled to open in Fall 2026. This isn't a typical grab-and-go coffee shop position—our guests expect thoughtful service, genuine hospitality, and an elevated experience every time they visit.

As a Barista, you'll be the face of the brand and often the first and last impression for every guest who walks through our doors. You'll prepare beverages, educate customers about our products, maintain a welcoming environment, and help create a memorable experience that keeps guests coming back.

You'll work collaboratively with fellow team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience, supporting coworkers during busy periods and maintaining a positive team environment. We're looking for people who naturally enjoy connecting with others, take pride in their work, and are excited to learn about specialty coffee and the products we serve.

Before opening, you'll participate in onboarding and training, learn company service standards, and assist with café setup and grand opening events. This is a chance to be part of something from the beginning and help create an exceptional guest experience from day one.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in coffee, food service, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing environment preferred
  • Specialty coffee experience is a plus, but not required
  • Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable learning and discussing products with confidence and enthusiasm
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure during busy periods
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and accountability in all interactions

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, attentive customer service to every guest and create a welcoming environment by greeting guests warmly and engaging authentically
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other menu items according to company standards, maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Develop strong knowledge of coffee, food offerings, and retail products and confidently educate guests about products, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently, process transactions, handle cash, and follow cash management procedures
  • Receive and organize inventory deliveries, rotate stock, and maintain product availability throughout shifts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café, including customer-facing and back-of-house areas, and follow opening, closing, and daily operational procedures
  • Participate in pre-opening onboarding, training, beverage preparation practice, and customer service workshops, and support grand opening events and launch activities
  • Build relationships with regular customers, anticipate guest needs, and handle customer questions, concerns, and feedback professionally

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $16.50/hour plus tips
  • Full-time or part-time scheduling options available
  • Opportunity to be part of a new location opening from the ground up
  • Pre-opening training and onboarding to build skills before the café opens
