Day to day, you will greet guests on arrival in an efficient and friendly manner, using their name whenever possible, and answer the outlet telephone courteously. You will present and explain the coffee drink menu, educate guests on coffee beans and preparation techniques, and prepare coffee drinks following prescribed recipes and methods.

You will work closely with the Bars Manager and the wider resort team to maintain inventories, ensure all mise-en-place is correctly prepared prior to service, and make every effort to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of each guest's coffee requests. Your role also involves promoting coffee and tea blends by selling equipment and supplies, and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.

Requirements

  • Minimum hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school.
  • More than one year’s experience in a similar operational role in luxury hotels.
  • Experience in coffee and tea brewing, and knowledge of the coffee and tea production process from growth to final beverage.
  • Knowledge of the characteristics of different types of coffee and tea and the roasting process.
  • Knowledge of Fair Trade coffee.
  • Thorough understanding of Six Senses brand and operating standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Strict adherence to LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests on arrival in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.
  • Answer outlet telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standards.
  • Present and explain the coffee drink menu, and explain differences in coffee beans and preparation machines.
  • Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
  • Promote coffee consumption and tea blends by educating guests and selling coffee, tea blends, and brewing equipment.
  • Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking brewing equipment, and maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for the coffee bar.
  • Ensure all mise-en-place coffee recipes and drinks are correctly prepared prior to service.
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction, ensure correct billing procedures, and bid guests farewell.
