About this role
Metz Culinary Management is seeking Rock Star Baristas with a passion for making hand crafted hot and cold coffee and tea beverages. We are looking for energetic team players who deliver exceptional customer service to guests in a fun and busy college setting at Valencia College.
Baristas prepare, stock, and maintain their station throughout the day. They greet guests, educate them on the drink menu, and prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks using prescribed recipes. They also serve pastries, sandwiches, and handle cash transactions accurately.
This position works in a fast-paced college setting as part of a team. Baristas collaborate with others, train new team members, and cross train in other departments. The environment is fun and busy, with a focus on delivering amazing hospitality. Metz Culinary Management is a family-driven company that delivers restaurant-inspired hospitality to everyone we serve.
We offer flexible scheduling and opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals. Interviews are held Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM at East, West, or Osceola Campus Café. Ask for the manager and bring ID. Salary is based on experience.
Requirements
- Previous Barista experience required
- Knowledge of how brewing equipment operates
- SERV Safe Certification
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, and stand without limitation and for long periods of time
- Ability to carry 50lbs on a consistent basis
- Reading, writing, oral proficiency, and basic math skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare, stock, and maintain station continuously throughout the day
- Greet guests and determine their coffee interests and needs
- Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
- Serve pastries, sandwiches, and other food items
- Use cash register for accurate cash handling and payment processing
- Clean and maintain all equipment continuously
- Complete weekly inventory and order list
