About this role

Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus is seeking a Barista for its new store, Dussmann – Kultur im KaDeWe, in Berlin's City West, combining curated media, gastronomy, and events. You will be part of a passionate team shaping this unique cultural retail experience.

Your day-to-day involves preparing and serving coffee beverages, operating the espresso machine, and advising guests on coffee selections. You'll ensure consistent quality and high hygiene standards while maintaining the bar area.

You will work in a service-oriented, team-driven environment that values appreciation, diversity, and team spirit. The role requires flexibility, including working on Sunday shopping days, and offers a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Requirements

Completed vocational training in gastronomy or comparable professional experience
Passion for coffee and its preparation
Enjoyment of teamwork and guest interaction
Strong service orientation
Good communication skills
Careful and precise working style
High degree of flexibility and resilience
German and English language skills; other languages welcome

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee beverages using an espresso machine
Advise guests on the selection of coffee specialties
Ensure quality and consistency of all coffee specialties
Clean and maintain the coffee machine and bar area
Maintain high hygiene standards
Provide friendly and service-oriented guest care
Handle cash register operations and billing
Work on Sundays during store-opening Sundays
