About this role

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure customers return. Treat customers and employees fairly, promoting an inclusive work environment and being a responsible community member. Create a welcoming atmosphere by answering product questions and preparing beverages to recipe and customer requests using proper equipment. Tender transactions using company best practices, offer samples, inform customers of specials, and ensure correct portion sizes to prevent shrink. Operate espresso machines, blenders, and ovens according to guidelines.

Collaborate with associates to achieve store goals in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflict reasonably and act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Any previous comparable experience (desired).
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Operate coffee shop equipment including espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer according to company guidelines.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates, taking appropriate action.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with food safety regulations and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies and notify management of any safety risks or issues.
