About this role

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Head Barista to lead the coffee culture at Little Walden at Happitat Adventure Park. Set in the Gold Coast hinterland against the world’s first Cliff Park, you’ll design, lead, and inspire a coffee program matching guests’ courage, joy, and transformation.

Go beyond making coffee by crafting perfect espresso extractions and rituals that elevate the guest journey into memorable moments. Lead the coffee program at Little Walden, ensuring every cup meets the highest standards of quality and consistency. Manage stock, supplier relationships, and equipment maintenance daily.

Train, mentor, and inspire baristas and front-of-house staff to build a vibrant team culture. Collaborate with leadership to design WALDEN’s coffee systems and guest experience. Champion Happitat’s values of sustainability, creativity, and transformation in this nature adventure destination.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ barista experience, with time in a leadership role
Deep knowledge of specialty coffee, equipment, and extraction techniques
Skilled in milk texturing, latte art, and delivering consistency under pressure
Hands-on leader who builds culture, not just service standards
Passion for hospitality and guest connection — seeing coffee as an experience, not a transaction
Organised, reliable, and proactive
Availability during weekends, public and school holidays
Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the coffee program at Little Walden
