About this role
Gopuff is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our Starbucks Operations team in Washington, D.C. Reporting to the Site Leader, this role is a core part of the team with the responsibility to ensure order accuracy and fast, efficient delivery to our customers.
This role contributes to Starbucks' success by assisting the site leader in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will deploy baristas and delegate tasks so that they can create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers, while modeling and acting in accordance with both Starbucks standards and Gopuff standards.
You will maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and set a positive example for the shift team. Anticipating customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment for cues is key, as is communicating information to the manager so the team can respond as necessary.
This role offers the opportunity to assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful coaching. You will develop positive relationships with the shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns, creating a positive learning environment focused on operational excellence.
Requirements
- 1+ years of leadership experience in retail, grocery, military, restaurant or equivalent experience
- 1 year of leadership in a cafe is preferred
- ServeSafe Certification highly preferred
- Starbucks or other fast-paced cafe experience preferred
- Ability to work with fluid schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward new team members
- Learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
Responsibilities

- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard
- Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment for cues
- Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a great working environment
- Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful coaching
- Provide feedback to manager on employee performance during shift
- Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including organizing opening and closing duties
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
