This role leads day-to-day activities of department operations in a retail store. Ensure associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, operating at company standards, and meeting goals and key performance indicators.

Order and maintain inventory utilizing inventory control procedures to ensure product freshness and quality. Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count, weight, condition, and store product in appropriate areas. Manage team completing stocking, production tasks, product quality, accuracy, date-sensitive rotation, and handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.

Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and store, including advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, and sales/rewards programs. Assure weekly and period Flight Plan communicated and executed to company expectations. Follow policies using tools/software for scheduling per forecasted guidelines, implement work schedules, labor/overtime control, and payroll expense.

Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values/competencies. Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management, career development of associates. Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts, attend daily huddles, manager meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience leading retail department operations and meeting performance indicators
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures for freshness and quality
  • Skills in validating orders and managing product storage
  • Ability to oversee stocking, production, rotation, and handling damaged products
  • Familiarity with store products, promotions, and rewards programs
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools, labor management, and payroll
  • Competency in team staffing, training, and performance management
