At Hy-Vee, the Assistant Coffee Shop Manager assists the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at competitive retail prices. Always maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions. Smiles, greets customers by name, escorts them to products, secures out-of-reach items, and enhances the shopping experience. Answers telephone promptly, takes counter orders, and passes along customer suggestions.

Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Handles food safely, keeps work area clean and neat, reviews product freshness, and anticipates daily needs. Prepares, replenishes products, checks in deliveries, and runs department registers.

Reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager. Supervises Coffee Shop Baristas. Adheres to company policies, personal hygiene, dress guidelines, and arrives on time when scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner and learns customers’ names
  • Assists customers by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and noting suggestions
  • Takes customer orders at the counter and answers telephone promptly
  • Handles food in a safe manner and ensures work area is always clean and neat
  • Reviews status and appearance of food for freshness and ensures adequate supply
  • Prepares and replenishes product as necessary and checks in product
  • Runs department registers, receives payment, and removes trash in a timely manner
