About this role
At Hy-Vee, the Assistant Coffee Shop Manager assists the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at competitive retail prices to customers. Always maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, learns customers’ names, and assists by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, or loading heavy items. Answers the telephone promptly, takes counter orders, and passes along customer suggestions.
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Handles food safely, keeps work area clean, reviews food freshness, and ensures adequate supply is ready. Anticipates daily product needs, prepares and replenishes as necessary, checks in product, and runs department registers.
Accountable and reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager. Supervises Coffee Shop Baristas. Adheres to department and company guidelines on hygiene, dress, policies, and punctual reporting to work.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience

- Maintain clean work area, remove trash, and adhere to hygiene and dress guidelines
