At Hy-Vee, the Assistant Coffee Shop Manager assists the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at competitive retail prices. Always maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions. Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, learn their names, and assist by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, or loading heavy purchases. Answer the telephone promptly, take product orders, and handle counter orders to enhance the shopping experience.

Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Supervise Coffee Shop Baristas while reporting to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager. Handle food safely, keep the work area clean, review product freshness, and anticipate daily needs.

Prepare and replenish products, check in deliveries, run department registers, and remove trash timely. Adhere to strict personal hygiene, dress guidelines, company policies, and individual store guidelines. Report to work when scheduled and on time, supporting opportunities for growth in a committed workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading heavy items
  • Answer the telephone promptly, take product orders, and handle counter orders
  • Handle food in a safe manner and ensure the work area is always clean and neat
  • Review the status and appearance of the food for freshness and maintain adequate supply
  • Prepare and replenish product as necessary, check in product, and run department registers
