About this role

The Manager provides oversight of the Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center and its staff, including the café and gift shop as well as the POS system. This role also oversees the facility and vendors providing products and services, including cleaning contractors. Additional duties involve welcoming pilgrimage groups and developing spiritual programming.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring employees, inventory, and the POS system in the café and gift shop. Oversee product and food inventory, orders, stock levels, and purchases while staying on budget. Coordinate maintenance, cleaning, and vendor management for the Pilgrimage Center and Pope Francis Center.

Interact with pilgrims by welcoming groups and individuals, answering questions, and advising on touch screen displays. Develop pilgrimage materials and resources while coordinating with youth and young adults. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and the organization's Code of Conduct.

Lead the team by monitoring productivity, providing performance evaluations, feedback, and mentorship. Set goals aligned with the organization's vision, track budgets, and report variances. Motivate staff through issue resolution and sound decision-making in a faith-based environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years working in a Catholic environment
  • Experience in operations and retail operations
  • Experience in managing vendors including selecting vendors and getting bids
  • Ministry experience in Religious education or Youth groups preferred
  • Experience with parish communications and development of materials for parishes and schools
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system
  • Ability to read and understand financial documents including profit and loss statements

Responsibilities
