About this role
Gopuff is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our Starbucks Operations team in Richmond, VA. Reporting to the Site Leader, this role is a core part of the team with the responsibility to ensure order accuracy and fast, efficient delivery to our customers.
This role contributes to Starbucks' success by assisting the site leader in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. You will deploy baristas and delegate tasks so that they can create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers, while modeling and acting in accordance with both Starbucks and Gopuff standards.
You will maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events, anticipate customer and store needs, and communicate information to the manager to create a great working environment. You will also assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching as needed.
This position offers the opportunity to develop positive relationships with your shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns. Given the nature of our stores, working hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- 1+ years of leadership experience in retail, grocery, military, restaurant, or equivalent experience
- 1 year of leadership in a cafe is preferred
- ServeSafe Certification highly preferred
- Starbucks or other fast-paced cafe experience preferred
- Ability to work with fluid schedules
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward new team members
- Learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
Responsibilities
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks and Gopuff
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard
- Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment for cues
- Communicate information to the manager so the team can respond as necessary to create a great working environment
- Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful coaching
- Provide feedback to the manager on employee performance during the shift
- Execute store operations during scheduled shifts and organize opening and closing duties as assigned
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
