The Assistant Coffee Shop Manager assists the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at competitive retail prices. They maintain a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, learns their names, and assists by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, or noting suggestions. Answers the telephone promptly, takes orders, and works with co-workers as a team for customer satisfaction.

Handles food safely, ensures the work area is always clean and neat, and reviews product status for freshness. Anticipates daily product needs, prepares and replenishes as necessary, checks in product, and runs department registers. Removes trash timely and maintains strict adherence to hygiene, dress, and company guidelines.

Accountable to District Store Director, Store Manager, and Coffee Shop Department Manager while Coffee Shop Baristas report to you. Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results oriented, customer focused, and professionalism. Night and weekend shifts required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether in the department or elsewhere in the store
  • Assist customers by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions
  • Answer the telephone promptly, provide helpful service, and take product orders
  • Take customer orders at the counter
  • Handle food in a safe manner, ensure work area is clean, and review food for freshness
  • Ensure adequate food supply, anticipate needs, prepare and replenish product as necessary
  • Run department registers, receive payment, make change, and remove trash in a timely manner
