Responsible for assisting the Department Manager with presenting the freshest, most innovative and best quality products at competitive retail prices. Always maintaining a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all interactions. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, learns their names, and assists by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, or loading heavy items. Answers the telephone promptly, takes product orders, and handles counter orders to enhance the shopping experience.

Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Handles food safely, keeps the work area clean and neat, reviews food freshness, and ensures adequate supply is ready. Prepares and replenishes products, checks in deliveries, runs department registers, and removes trash timely.

Accountable and reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager. Supervises Coffee Shop Baristas. Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results oriented, customer focused, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner and make an effort to learn customers’ names
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions
  • Answer the telephone promptly, provide helpful service, and take product orders
  • Take customer orders at the counter
  • Handle food in a safe manner and ensure the work area is always clean and neat
  • Review the status and appearance of food for freshness and ensure adequate food supply is ready
  • Prepare and replenish product as necessary, check in product, and run department registers
