Responsible for assisting the Department Manager with presenting the freshest most innovative and best quality products at a competitive retail price to customers. Always maintaining a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, learns customers’ names, and assists by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, or noting suggestions. Answers the telephone promptly, takes counter orders, and works with co-workers as a team.

Handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat. Reviews the status and appearance of the food for freshness, anticipates product needs, prepares and replenishes product as necessary. Checks in product, runs department registers, receives payment, and removes trash in a timely manner.

Accountable and reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, Food Service Director, and Coffee Shop Department Manager. Supervises Coffee Shop Baristas to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene, dress, policies, and punctual reporting to work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner and make an effort to learn customers’ names
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions
  • Answer the telephone promptly, take product orders, and handle counter orders
  • Handle food in a safe manner, ensure work area is clean, review food freshness, and anticipate product needs
  • Prepare and replenish product, check in product, and review invoices
  • Run department registers, receive payment, make change, and remove trash
  • Supervise Coffee Shop Baristas and work with co-workers as a team
